drifting
ok ok i know this is gonna sound really stupid and i'm gonna get ragged on but hell here it comes.... drifting what is it pulling ur e-brake around turns and sliding or what please don't rag to bad i really don't know but sounds fun please can u give me an idea
if u drive an ff car maybe, its a complex combination of control and mayham that resulds in a beautiful series of controled slides by using throtle clutch hand brake brakes to control, it is also the most damaging and fun motorsport a person can compete in.... a thank you
I agree with young gun it takes a toll on your car really bad if you don't modd it correctly. Also your tires get ripped up. If your gonna drift use crappy tires and drift on a wet surface or in the rain, but be careful. Pulling the e-brake drift is the first/easiest drift to learn.

i like to pull my e brake around turns.... people make fun of me for it though.....i dont exactly know why.... its a lil more dangerous to drift in the rain....a lot more controled in the dry....and your back tries get worn down real fast but it helps if you have tires that grip in the front...they take a while to ware down...
to properly answer this question
drifting, in regards to its most popular usage, refers to inducing a RWD car into a slide scenario by using several different techniques (weight shift, ebrake, power over, etc or combinations of those).
Once the car becomes sideways there is a skilled usage of the throttle, brakes, clutch, and ebrake to continue the slide and exit the slide cleanly. it is a combination of all driving skills, and is much harder than it appears.
to put it shortly, it is an exhibition of driver skill. one must have skill before one can exhibit it. learn the basics of performance driving (vehicle weight transfer, racing lines through turns, and smooth brake and throttle usage) before attempting it.
next time there is a drift event, feel free to ask myself or any of the ants for a ride if your curious.

Goto my website www.powerslideways.com and click on the Drift vs Powerslide link. This is a small article I wrote up more geared towards domestic guys that might confuse powersliding and drifting. But it gives you a pretty good idea of what drifting is, and what drifting is not.
