drifting, in regards to its most popular usage, refers to inducing a RWD car into a slide scenario by using several different techniques (weight shift, ebrake, power over, etc or combinations of those).

you'll notice I said 'most popular'. pick up any japanese magazine about drifting, 95% of the vehicles shown are rwd. yes, awd can drift, but its not a good starting platform for drift IMHO. The learning curve is much greater, as is the abuse on the car.
u can drift an awd car off road easily. look at wrc. also fwd... the wrc opels used to be fwd. look on gt3...also i am curious. hks supra ur signiture looks so weird. like it looks like u pulled ur ebrake and came to a stop while hitting ur brakes. wtf mate?!?!! lol correct me.
it waz actually the end of my Donut.....+ it waz at a Cocrete factory....yes it looks weird...i need to take some really good pics some time when i go out again, concentrating on getting the car ready for track event 7
