Default 10 sec ALL MOTOR Honda

thought i'd post these pictures of cory thompsons setup. its a 2.2 liter crvtec running 15.5:1 compression. thats about all i'm going to disclose...as everything else is kinda unique to his setup...should make between 250-300whp after tuning. and he went 11.94 with a 500 dollar ls/vtec so i'm sure 10's are within reason...

(the header and intake manifold were made by cory's father, whose name is barry thompson. he owns http://www.hrmfab.com)

enjoy the pictures.

can the pictures be any larger?
I think I've seen this thing up @ fordspeed on the dyno.

Looks like the car weighs 1500lbs...

car weighs 1800+lbs.

if he runs low 10's it will be the fastest unibody in the country...which means (to the v8 guys) its a stock body with cage...no other modifications are made to the structure to eliminate chassis flex.

with driver, it weighs around 2000lbs.

and i know the v8 guys won't be interested, but 10's are 10's. how many people are in the 10's?

500 dollar ls/vtec, not 500 dollar car. obviously to build the car cost a LOT more than that.

when the car runs 10s, it is then a 10 second car.

until then, its a car that best time is 11.94.

going from an 11.94 to a 10.99 is a big jump and will take a lot of power, low 10s are a completely different story. You're talking about picking up almost 2 seconds, which is an eternity in drag racing.
If and when he does it, then great. But I'll tell ya that going low 10's in an 1800 lb car is a heck of a lot easier than going low 10s in a 3000lb car...

mattback, you are correct.

i should have posted "potential 10 second car."

the reason i think (and others who know infinitely more than me) the car will run 10's is based upon other similar setups weighing around 1800lbs. and i'm sure there will always be guys like stroked who will assume its easier to run 10's with an 1800lb car...and while this may be true i'd say its much harder to run 10's with an ALL MOTOR 4 cylinder.
