This is very long I know but please read through it to help improve this race and to keep it going on a regular basis.
Below you will find all of the comments and suggestions that I pulled out of the previous thread started by SR20DET. Please let me know if I am on the right track before I take these to Alan and Wade. This is of course my summary. I looked over all of the posts pertaining to Friday nights race and I hope I did not miss any big issues. If I did I appologize.
1) Under Aged Drinking: Say no more ! Keep in mind this is hard to police unless you want the police all over the place and this defeats why we are there in the first place no police. I agree completely no excuses.
2) Music: I talked to Wade (track manager) as soon as I got to the track about the music. They did not have a radio at the present time only a CD player. Therefore that is why the music was what it was. Will work on it. Hard to please the masses.
3) Parking / Traffic Control: I mentioned before this was probably going to be a fiasco. I did see some good ideas from the previous threads and will take them to the proper people.
4) Staging Lanes: Having all four lanes open helped keep the line down for a while. Then it got totally out of control by people parking three deep all over the place. Spectators will definitley need to park on the other side if possible but will still have full access to both sides. People will need to understand that the pit roads are intended to be one way !
5) Car Trailers: As mentioned before they were there for a big race going on today (Saturday) and were given the opportunity to come to the track early to get a parking place. This will not happen all of the time so deal with it.
6) Waiting In Line: This is a direct reflection of how many cars show up. Cutting down on the spectator cars driving around on that side of the track should help some.
7) Club Parking: Not a whole lot of feedback on this topic but would probably be very hard to pull off.
General Track Knowledge: This pertains to prepping your car burnouts staging general track courtesy. This is something that people are going to have to learn. I know first hand that is where some the dislike from the domestic guys come from towards the import guys lack of general track knowledge. This is not to say that the domestics know it all and the import guys know nothing because this is not true. I saw a Camaro or two try to line the rear tires up on the beams a few times but overall it seems like more of the imports have a lack of track knowledge or procedures.
9) Time Slips: I agree that timeslips are needed. Give people the option to let their times be seen. Now this is only possible if both people racing agree one way or the other. Some people will not care if their time goes up and it will make it more amusing for the crowd. The track would probably raise the price a little to cover the extra manpower and paper.
Overall for this being the first full event under this format I thought it went rather well. The one thing I noticed is that people stayed in there little packs and did not venture out to meet other people. Maybe we should put something on the cars showing which club you are from your screen name and your real name. This would give people a chance to meet and make more friends. Of course some people may not want to reveal who they are so they can stay hidden behind their computers and flame people. Let me know if this sums it up. Please do not quote:60dfd26082 this post if you respond because it is already long enough. Just give me YOUR .02 cents. Thanks

Also do not do your burnout while someone is staging in front of you I saw a couple of the domestics doing a full scale John Force burnout while the car ahead of them was still staging. Yes and there where a couple of smaller displacement cars seen doing this also. Overall a kickass event!
why not start the racing @ 9pm with a clinic from 8pm to 9pm or something along those lines. probably wouldnt need a full hour but just going over the basics would probably be a good thing for all..
maybe basic info on which way to turn depending on the car at the end of the quarter. some of the faster cars who pitted on the west side would take the right turn off others saw this proceeded to haul a$$ down the return road (wrong) and then have to cut across behind the lanes usually causing blockage...
timeslips would be nice of course you might get a few more people out with faster cars because of this so not sure what theyll do saftey wise.... although I would think they would need to stage the cars the way that they did this past friday. The faster cars were on the west side of the track eveyone else on the east...
as for parking there was plenty towards the end of the 1/4 just no one wanted to go down there. you open up the west side for parking and youre going to have a mess with people cruising between the sides...
i agree on the drinking obvious as to who was old enough and who wasnt... not sure how theyll deal with this though..
overall good event though.

I had mentioned maybe putting club names screen names whatever on cars not so people would have or need to stay by their cars to meet others but so people could say hello or introduce themselves while waiting in line or while coming off of the track. Maybe people could use the standard issue shoe polish on the back window or some type of removeable sticker on the side of the car. No name tags ! Puke... Just a thought.
I know I sat in the stands with my brother Mark (marksaccord95) and Taylor (sloaccord)and I only talked to a couple of people I had met before. Everyone else was really just talking among there own small groups. This is no way to expand the club or for people to get to know each other. Maybe we will have to start a topic about that on its own.
