Aside from shifting, launching can also be a great factor in bringing your time down. My car has and intake and was running 15.2's all night long. Then i membered my peak power and torque is in the 5g range so I feathered or slipped the clutch from 5 grand and ran a 14.9. My trans and clutch hated me but it worked. (Ps that was very embarassing with all these guys here runnin 12's)

just because you feathered it from your "power range" doesnt mean you were doing anything better necesarily..

your just keeping the rpms up and slipping the clutch, which i think is the best technique for launching, unless you got the suspension, and tires to hook and know right where the clutch will slip itself so you dont bog.

i havent gotten to drive a 6spd LT1, but i did drive a 240sx and was cutting 2.0 and 1.9 short times on low profile tires and some insane camber. i was just feathering the clutch from like 4k.
