The Viper that dominated Hockenheim, Budapest and Watkins Glen

One of the most impressive and iconic race cars back in the late 1990s was the Dodge Viper (marketed as the Chrysler Viper worldwide). This example is the car that campaigned during the 1999 FIA GT Championship season.



During that year, a quartet of drivers drove this ride: Jean-Philippe Belloc, Justin Bell (Le Mans class winner), Dominique Dupuy (four-time class winner at Le Mans), and David Donohue (overall winner at Daytona, class winner in Le Mans and Pikes Peak).



How did this Viper do in 1999? It won in its debut at Hockenheim with Belloc and Dupuy behind the wheel. Then it went to Budapest, where not only did it win, it lapped the entire field. At Watkins Glen, Donohue joined Belloc to drive it to its final victory in FIA GT competition. The car currently carries the same colors as it did during that Glen triumph.
