I'd love to have the stock active exhaust. Seems to me like a "best of both worlds" solution. Don't think I'd tamper with it at all.

So far as I am aware, the valves are between the mufflers and the resonators, so what you're doing is bypassing the resonators when they're open. If you remove the mufflers, then you'll have straight pipes when the valves are open.

Straight pipes are way too obnoxious for me, especially at cold start-up when all my neighbors are sleeping.

Just my 2¢.
