That is kinda of contradictory. In that a weak S60 spring could have weakened to the level of a "stock" spring. Meaning if you put all stock springs in there it MIGHT NOT fix it. It can but....ya never know. The only way I could easyly see it fixing it was if you had a wild cam. High lift long duration. Then a stock tension/weakened spring would "jump" off the lobe causing the problem. I would go ahead and try it, I hope it works, but I always hope for the best, expect the worst. See if you can test that dead spring against a stock one. I am not sure that the calibrated hammer swing test would be accurate engough but fuck it its worth a shot. Just something for you to think about.
Worst case I'll help ya when we get down there.
