So he sent me 4 MORE cals today.. pretty much the same as the last 4, with a minor change in each. He also sent his 3 bar MAP to check.. he thought mine may have been faulty. He also threw in a 3bar +40 S60 based cal that his friend wrote.
I go put in his #1 along with his MAP. Same shit. I didnt even bother with his others.
I put the stock ECU in just to verify im not an idiot and it ran fine.
I then put "the friend's cal" in and started it up. Ran perfectly?!
Guess it was something in his programming all along

I did get to talk to him on the phone. He says all the idle and spark tables on his cals were stock. He just added fuel and boost. Hes still not sure whats wrong, but says tehre are constants in the cal's that may override the tables. He didnt change any, but he's thinking somehow one got overwritten and thats what's screwing things up. He's going to scrutinize his cals and compare them to his friends.
However, the strange thing on all this is that all of the cals he's sent me to try, hes had them in his Bro's car and it works flawless... go figure?!

So if you talked to him on the phone just recently what did he say about the cal his friend wrote? Are you gonna try that one out and go boosting around?

ahh.. i'm not sure. He said its a S60 made into 3bar +40s... said the RPM is jumped up a little at idle, and there's TONS of spark added since its for a G head. He said on the low setting, i should be fine for driving it, and even boosting without problems. The high setting will give me ashtrays with all the advance

well, in all the excitement of the car running, i forgot to mail him back his 3bar MAP he let me borrow. So hey, i may as well take the Spirit to the PO! I start it up and it idles a bit rough and popping a little, but just over 1000 rpm.. good!
After a min or 2 of idling, it cleared right up and the idle dropped just under 1000. So I headed out. First off, the off boost power is crazy! Never had throttle response like that before!
It ran, idled, cruised, everything very smooth. I boosted it a couple times and it shot to like 14-15psi, then back to 9. I dunno what its set at, maybe my vacuum lines are all screwed up still.. i never got that far yet.
But man, riding in it in 2nd, holding the revs at like 2000-2500, then punching it... w:ow!
