make sure none of the wiring was stripped and touching anything. also check to see if its a stage 1 or stage 2 ecu. they tend to throw stupid codes for no reason

yes, sounds like the sensor was fine, you have to do a little wiring harness investigation. do you have a shop manual or wiring diagram? if not PM or call me, I can help. 813-333-1100. if a dealer finds a dead short in your harness he's gonna want to replace the harness, so to fix it on the cheap, run some new wires or bring it down and I'll check it out for you.

Check the harness that goes around the head under the manifold to the sensor. They tend to wear and short things out. Also sometimes it's not the CPS but CMpS (cam sensor). The run on the same circuit and could annoy one another. I would definitely check the harness though..I have never heard of a staged PCM throwing random codes for no reason.

Check all your spark plug wires and the plugs themselves. Pending on the manufacture date some of the plugs and wiring can be faulty. and cause other issues to arise making it seem like something else.

Any plug or wire that is faulty will cause a misfire in a cylinder if your having idling fluctuation.

let me know what you find
