You need to know what size..... I go by tread pattern
and my own way of measuring. I know what will fit my
wheel wells and a salesman's computer doesn't. He only
knows what the screen says.

More expensive tires have a lower profile than cheaper brands.
even though sidewall says the same numbers.

Different tires are sold by different dealers
and some have a lock on a certain brand.

1.Educate yourself. Hit tirerack.com. 2.Pick a tread that you like,
and 3.Start driving around to dealers with a tape measure.-Bob

I also often get take off rubber from many race teams so if your an autocrosser I typically sell light wear qualifying tires for $25-$30 for true racing slicks or DOT approved.
