suspension sugesstion!
Blues are really not a performance shock. perhaps 10-20% stiffer then Stock.. and their longevity is less then stellar. Coilover sleeves on Replacement shocks.. I'm not going to get into the whole spend it once and do it right argument. so I'm going to take a nap.
'Nuff said, Jeff.
Suffice it to say that I've "been there and done that", which is why I recommend a proper full coilover kit. By the time you've spent a couple hundred bucks on the slip-on coilover kit and $400 on a set of shocks, you're only about $200 away from having done it right in the first place.

Remember Skunk2 Has 2 versions of full coilover the Spec-S and Spec-C the K-sport BASE model is equal to the TOP model from Skunk-2 and comes with a 1 year no questions asked warranty. so apples to apples you get a bit more with the K-sport
the Pro-S is non damping and non-length adjustable. I personally have sold 10 sets of K-sport running around tampa and none have failed since I started selling them 2 years ago.
I rebuild coil overs and have torn apart enough K-sports to stand behind their quality. Not trying to sell you, since there are sever good brands on the market. but Both myself and Loren have had great experiences with them.

Just a note, I only mentioned Tokico blue because, from my understanding, he just wanted to lower the car and have a smooth ride.
"kinda an all around daily driver with a nice look but not slammed good performance but not drag or autocrossing "...
So, I figure he's not wanting the full performance aspect of it. I used to have the blues that came with my car and they were a close to stock ride, but still handled ok when I wanted to take turns. (But still way too soft).
I do agree to do something right the first time. If he was intent on autocrossing the car or any kind of performance, I'd say full coilovers too. But hey, we don't know if he has the money for them now, or if he wants to wait to get them. So I just threw that in there. Sorry, didn't want to come off as wanting to give the wrong advice or anything. I'm fully aware that I'm one of the lesser knowledgable people on this thread right now =)
