I don't object that a person chooses to ignore the photograph of my Accord next to a stock Accord that pretty clearly shows a 3" difference from the lower edge of the trunk to the ground.

I have said before that it is not a "cut" spring, but a spring that is too short which eats tires, destroys shocks, etc...........and when a person installs aftermarket springs that are too short, you will get the same results as if you cut it too short yourself.

Once again, it is a spring that is "too short" that damages a suspension. etc, not specifically the method that a person used to obtain a too-short spring.

I seem to be the only one on TR who knows how to measure a suspension
and lower a car so the tires are not eaten, the suspension is not beat up and the shocks are not blown, and my personal car is the proof.

When someone else claims they can tell exactly the height of two cars when only one car is present, I find that to be

Actually, when a person looks through a particular forum, they can see multiple examples where my opposing point of view
has been deleted as "off topic" by someone misusing their over-control as
suspension moderator to insure their view is the only one heard.

Since I install aftermarket lowering springs as well as shorten
stock springs to lower a car, and since I know enough about
suspensions and how to measure them, I can see both sides.

People who want to silence other peoples opinion can only

I agree, this site should be for sharing what we know or what we think we know, besides that we still have google, but we are here and we are local, come on guys its so much anger around, lets just be human, at least the part where we are friends, i still have a question its fluorescent light better than incandescent...............lol peace.

 

Im back again!!! And im gonna go with Dropzone Adjustable Coilovers with the Dropzone Struts, are these good? there a good deal. I dont race but i like the look, and handling kinda

Also Im installing Front and Rear Strut Bars, Rear Lower Tie Bar, and aftermarket rear lower control arms.

But how about those Dropzone struts and adj. coilover package.??

 

If you have a choice of spending the money on better dampers or al kinds of bars that add weight to your car, get the better dampers. you will thank me. most strut tower bars have piviot points in the wrong spots which don't add nearly the rigidity they should.. but that's a story for another post.

The best strut bar designs connect to the A-arm pivot points, or an actual suspension location. Depending on other clearances, they sometimes will bolt to the firewall. Sometimes they are designed, not of round tubing that will flex, but some designs use squared/angled steel to resist flexing. You can read about this on some of my other posts.

The tires, through the A-arms, or through the top of a MacPherson
strut are exerting force to flex the chassis.
You can read this on some of my other posts.

Most strut bars that I see, connect to the top of the shock absorber.
Makes for an easy bolt-on, and plenty of import guys are bolt-on guys instead of build-it guys............ this "top-of-shock" design
probably goes back to when a lot of cars had MacPherson struts,
and back then, the top of the m-strut WAS the top of the shock.
I prefer connecting frame stiffening devices to suspension points.
