Default My $.02...Why you shouldn't PERSONALLY cut your own springs to lower a car.

Why you should not personally cut your springs
to lower your own car?
-----------
Because the secret is in the measuring.

Because Senor Honda (me) is the only one on TR who knows
how to precisely measure your suspension to avoid
the problems that others speak of.

I have been lowering cars for years using OEM springs and stock adjusters for people who were saving up for the high dollar suspensions,

..............and some of them decided that the measuring
and lowering that I did, meant that they did not need
to buy the high dollar stuff.-Bob

Cool How Coils Can Be Cut Successfully

Since I install aftermarket springs at a good price for people who don't mind spending a lot to buy them, as well as shortening stock springs to lower cars while using stock adjusters, and my experience on the cars I have worked on, shows:

That if a spring is too short, the spring is too short, and it doesn't matter if you paid $300 for a brand new too-short spring, or if you made them too short all by yourself.-Bob
---------
When someone wants me to lower their car with cut springs, the secret is in understanding how the suspension works, and measuring the suspension. I seem to be the only one on TR who can successfully cut springs without springs flopping around, without suspensions getting beat up, and without the tires being eaten up. AND I CAN PROVE IT.
When anyone wants to see for themselves what I'm talking about
is true, get back to me.-Bob
