Are Ebay Lowering Springs Realy That Bad?
Are Ebay Lowering Springs Realy That Bad?
Hi, I just got a 97 civic, and I want to lower it, I just want to give it a more sporty look, I'm looking for an 1" to 2" in drop, I am planing to replace the front shocks soon, there pretty worn, so I want to change all the springs at the same time.
Now the advice I need is; are "ebay" lowering springs ok? I dont want coilovers, just springs, and if "ebay" springs are that bad, what brand should I get?
Keep in mind, im on a budget, and im not looking for a crazy racing suspension, just want to lower it a little, please help.

for that application, i still say FOR THE MOST PART, springs are springs
there are excellent springs out there, but you will be fine with what you are talking about for what you want

If your looking to go no more then a 2" drop, You should be fine with any brand/non-brand spring.
Most all springs are made out of the same materials, The Stiffness/uncomfortable ride you don't want shouldn't be a problem because the drop your wanting is subtle.
The lower you go and the tighter the springs are compressed.....the more bounce you'll have.
If I can suggest something before you go buying new "Ebay" springs, Why don't you hold off just a little bit and continuously watch the Honda/Acura for sale forum for some used Neuspeed/Eibach/H&R Sport/Etc. springs.
9 out of 10 times used springs are just as good as New springs...minus the price.
I've owned several sets of used springs and never had a problem.
Let me do a quick search and see is I can come up with something for you.
