the thing is what you truly need is a huge boost in the industry that leans towards doing performance and tuning what you have done. we all know that most kids dont do these things and simply look for cheap horsepower. what is needed is a push if you will a push to open these kids eyes up that will show them that apc intakes are not a performance mod or that a 75 poubd gtr wing doesnt help you out. but all of this would probably fall on deaf ears right now after the release of the fast and the furious.

i would love to see john be able to open the shop back up but is the true market really there to justify the means for it. if you stictly advertise your self(meaning advertise as in keels and wheels and things of that nature) as a in house dyno facility and that is it i am sure you will see plenty of business but you will also be limited of who comes to you for work.

i do think its possible for you to work with everyone but also appeal to everyone. you need a way to lure these kids in there and show them the numbers from the apc intake that they want and then show them the numbers from a aem which then you could push on them it all takes patience and that folks like GI JOe said is half the battle.

Im thinking the addition of a phone line and voicemail for the shop would be a really good idea people that dont know you might feel a little more comfortable if they had a phone number for the shop and could call back if they needed to. As for the idea of opening a new shop I think you should wait a little bit and really think through how you want everything to work.

i also agree with adding the phone line it would make it easier for people to speak directly with you which gives them that feeling that if they need anythinh they can pick up the phone and maybe see results that day. i would also try to advertise what you have now a bit more i know for the time being you are trying to reamin small and somewhat semi-private but i think people your name out there for more people to see wouldnt hurt things at all. and with the addition of the phoneline they would be able to pick up as soon as they see the ad of banner and find out more info from the owner himself.

one thing i also thought about was if after you get going and business is going good and you are making a somewhat decent profit that you could think about buying the additon to make your dyno an awd dyno. it would bring a loager market your way and would put you on top of everyone else in the industry. i know 65k is alot of cheddar but from the looks of it the market for it seems to be there and might be worth the hefty pricetag. i mean hell there are people willing to drive to maryland for an awd drive dyno so hell i am sure they wold be willing to pay for a spin on yours and be gratefull for it and would more than likely would spread the word. which in turn would bring mo money mo money mo money your way

and jp i ment that having patience and knowing it is half the battle i am not a total retard.

Isnt ramseys mostly mustang minded? that might swing in your favor as far as the tampa market is concerned because of the large amounts of imports. keep that in mind

John- I thank you for installing a phone line..I seriously have to turn away one or 2 people a week asking where motor shops are mainly because LHT isnt in the phone book and We refer to some friend of a friend here. Streetheat can do the basic bolt ons no problem but the motor work we have to say...find a shop elsewhere. If you do re open You have 100 percent of my referalls and support.
