Well I got bored today so I went ahead and installed the 16g and ported exhaust manifold that I got from a fellow DSMr. I still have the factory fuel pump for another couple weeks so I am keeping the boost turned down but all I have to say is WOW no more boost lag! I looked at my old one and it had so much shaft wobble that the damn compressor wheel was touching the housing and had actually grinded some of the meteal away! I guess that was my lag problem!

Good deal. Now you can blow the clutch out. That should be next to let loose. DSMs are pretty damn easy to work on huh?

I was actually surpirsed how easy the whole assembly came out to be honest. The only thing I had trouble with was getting the oil feed line tightened and it appears to be weaping a little oil I think I am gonna head to the dealer tommorow and get a new feed line and banjo bolt. One thing that surprises me is that it actually feels slower on top than my 14b but that is probably becasue I only have it set at 11 psi whereas the old one was set at 15 -16..lol it vaaried... But it is soooo nice to be able to punch it and immediatley see 11 psi whereas the old tired one took 4500 rpm to hit 10 psi and 5500-6k before it ws full boost.

You need some intercooler pipes now to see the full flow potential of that turbo. The stock throttle body elbow is a joke. Get an upgraded J-pipe for the outlet of the turbo as well. I think Buschur and roadrace sell good ones. Roadrace is always cheapest. You stil have the stock downpipe on there running open? Even that is a restriction. At least get a 2.5 D-pipe.

Thanks for the links! I am surprised at their prices I think I am gonna get the flange from them and just have my muffler guy make the bends he loves doing thta stuff. Also the distance between my BOV and throttle body is not crucial is it?

Just close enough that you can route it back into the intake path.
