Well being jobless my ability to mod my car has come to a screeching halt. Wait! I can still do stuff it just has to be free. Well I have decided to bite the bullet. Its getting gutted out. Start weight 3370 some odd pounds or some sort of beached whale like number. Target weight. 2999 or lower. I think it can be done.

Keep in mind this is NOT my only car so stripping it down so far the fine ladys of Mons Venus would blush should not be a problem.

Shit removed. Rear seats. All plastic trim from the drivers seat back. Rear speakers all things associated with rear seatbelts. Some sound deadener. Basically anything that could just be unbolted and taken out.

I see quite a few little brackets that were just support to the plastic etc. Any advice on breaking spot welds without ripping a hole in the car?

Things that will be removed. Rear wiper and motor assembly. Rear winshield washer tank and motor. The bracing that the rear seat bolts too (thats at least 30 pounds of pure metal right there but is spot welded all over the place). About 4 silly little braces along the back that held in misc plastic shit. Need to goto town on sound dead. All things realted to the radio. Its broken anyway and Im not going to buy one for it.

When I get around to it the A/C heater stuff and convert to a manual steering rack.

I really think I can get this thing down to the target weight. If not Ill start cutting. The drivetrains are fragile and hauling this beefy ass car around doesnt help any. I am hoping this will limit drivetrain failure in the future.

If only I could use powertools here in the apartment parking lot. Damn you Denise and John you have tainted my mind!!!!

They are just little tack/spot welds every 3 inches or so. I was prying on one a bit and it sorta started to rip a hole through the bottom of the car. Need a chisel and real tools over here.

Yeah I figured I would have to drill them out. I can just put a tack weld to cover the holes. I may take you up on the lift offer. Depends on how long until I get work. 2750....I can only dream. Actually that is pretty fat. My 2G was like 2976 with me in it.... add 300 for the AWD portion and BAM! Fat ass!
