Dang.. guys please dont get mad at me and dont think I am flaming because I truly am not..

99hp?? and thats AFTER a few mods? I am sorry that just stuns me! Honda really starts that far in the whole? I know some have more HP but that just absolutely floors me! What do cars like this make stock? Like the non-turbo DSMs?? or Nissans?

holy cow! I dont know if I could start that far behind the 8 ball and not get a feeling of hopelessness. I didnt go the Mustang route because of that same thing. Its like Why start 50 Cubes down to a chevy small block when you dont have too. Takes the avergae Mustang a few grand to catch up to a F-body stock.. thats my main reason in building an F-Body..

start ahead stay ahead.. what does it take to push a 93EX to 500+ HP? is it possible without Power Adders or motor swaps? I must be honest I know very very little about imports..

yeah I understand power-to-weight. My car was 3640 lbs. which is probably scary to a honda guy. I doubt a 100hp would even get that barge rolling. It is down to 3040 now and in the process it dropped half a second in ET due to it.

Granted I am not in the market to buy an import not even as a project car but I am not as hostile as I used to be towards them. I have grown to respect the DSM guys and their turbo cars. The motors arent much to talk about N/A but with the right tuning and Turbo work they can run really respectable.

I appreciate that you guys didnt think I was being an ass I suppose I am trying to figure it all out. I used to discount it all as being a big joke but it is becoming obvious that many people are into it now. I dont buy the whole I dont have much money so I had to get a beater Honda and build it story tho I have seen some of the prices you guys pay for parts and it freaked me out! I am more likely to believe that for whatever reason someone WANTED to mod a Honda/DSM/Nissan and went from there. I am not a stang guy but its hard to argue the logic of getting an older Fox body car cleaning up the motor and putting a bottle on it. QUick reliable HP for extremely cheap.

I am going to have to just come out one night and hang with you guys and have you show me around a bit and get a look at some of the exceptional cars and have someone explain to me WHY they are exceptional. I am truly ignorant about imports in general I know there are some fast ones and all but my persoanl experince hasnt been good.

hehhe took a year for me to even be willing to discuss the subject objectively Just a dumb old redneck our attitudes die hard

I have no problem with my car bieng slow. I have come to terms with it and now me and the civic lead a productive life. I found it really funny that I didnt break the century mark becuase I have had a car with double if not more than what i have now.

Denise- I was suprised..I expected 79 too...Jeff geussed 88 but the teal terro proved him worng. All I need to do is figure out wht that spike is from...

Robert- thanks for keeping this a mature discussion and not youre f-ing slow hondas suck I understand your points about starting from the back..I dunno maybe some people like to be the underdogs. I dont tho Id go the route with the 5.0 if I had the opportunity. This is just the college car and Im just modding becuase Im a big car nut. Im sur eyou understand
