Sounds about right - a mailbox with a 4" diameter pipe inside and encased in concrete should prevent any hooligans from an enjoyable mailbox baseball encounter... However the Garbage truck may require something a bit more substantial - say like some of those automatic flip-up style barriers they use at government facilities to keep cars from running gates, LOL!
