There are several new treatment options out there, after the initial surgery.

My mom went through the surgery then some radiation and now she's on some meds (herceptum, I think it's called) that are administered through an iv drip every so often.

She is doing pretty good, but has some side effects. She bruises really easy, and can't lift more than like 5 lbs. above elbow height.

Interestingly I've lost 3 grandparents and my father to cancer.

Thoughts and prayers go out to everyone dealing with this. Seems that we are all getting to the age where this is becoming a reality.

I'll never grow up, but getting older along with your parental units does have the expected and unwanted drawbacks called life. I know our mom has had some lumpectomys (sp) and such which always scare me. I don't know alot about what that means, but from what I have read it is nothing good. I really hope everyone's parents pull through. Best wishes.
