OMGHi2Job
Today I was offered a Claims Rep Trainee position with Unitrin Direct. Hold the trainee position for one year while I earn my state adjuster certificate (which is paid for by Unitrin). After that I'll be that person you hate to talk to on the phone when you get in an accident.
Not my #1 choice, but not a bad job. Holds some nice growth opportunity and has the stability I've been looking for. Plus the certification opens up the doors to employment with other companies in the area should I want a change.
I start the last week of October. Pay is a little more than what I earned with Schwartz, but I'll still be doing part time consulting with the old job to pay off some bills and save up for a downpayment on a home...or perhaps a mail order bride.
Even though I did accept the position, I'm still looking for others. I'll hear back from Nielsen Media Research this week about a 2nd interview. This would pretty much be my dream job, so I'm crossing my fingers I don't screw up the interview.
Just thought I'd share my joy. I'll definately enjoy the month vacation before I enter the job force again.

Why did you stop working with Nielsen? At which location did you work? How did you like working there?

Congrats Alan.
Thanks everyone.
I guess when it rains, it pours. 2nd interview with Nielsen is tomorrow at 4:30. Seems like all this job hunting for the past 3-months is sort of paying off all of a sudden. Wish me luck!
