i dont know if you want to consider this a mod or not, but im installing the big brakes on it too.

for the non-dsm enthusiasts, im installing twin piston calipers up front. this will make it the proverbial "perfect" DSM:

6/4 with big brakes and low miles to boot.

Are you keeping the anti-lock brakes?

Why? If it is a 92 it already has big breaks on it... unless the auto's didn't come with the big breaks.

I thought only some 92's got the big breaks, only ones before may got the 6bolt, and most got the 4 bolt rear end?? Then if you found all 3 on a 92 car that was REALLY rare to come stock

I didn't know that the 6/4bolt and big breaks combo was that rare. I thought all the 6bolt 92's automatically came with the big breaks. I know mine is the 6/4bolt LSD, 5spd, big breaks/no abs car. Interesting...

the late AWD 7 bolt 92`s have big brakes. if you have a early 92 with a 6/4 and big brakes then someone added the big brakes at some point. They never put the best motor, rear and brakes all in one model DSM.

Tom is right. my 92 GST that was also built in May still has the single piston calipers.

the twin piston calipers were out, just not on DSM's this early. they were only on the 3/S and Diamantes since their inception... but the DSM's didnt get them till late 92 or beginning of the 93 model year.

this is what makes it a "perfect" DSM, too bad they didnt come from the factory this way.

oh, and the ABS is disabled right now... i dont think im going to bother removing the ABS and switching the lines unless i keep it... but id rather sell it and get the money back out of it.

My 92 has the 6/4 but the small mid 90-mid 92 brakes. I bought some dual piston calipers a while back, I'll convert eventually.

Anybody have a 90 with the even smaller early 90 brakes?

The big breaks were actually out and on "DSM's" before 92, all gvr4's came with big breaks.
