yeah after u told me about it i checked it out pretty nice but i found something pretty cool out bmw is thinking about taking the v10 out of the m5 and dropping a v8 turbo in to it. they r using the motor out of the x6 i think. the report said that so far they r liking the testing so far so we may see a turbo m5 in 2011

if the mods don't like other forums being posted feel free to remove i don't think these will really sway anyone away from tr/tf per say

these are 3 i've been reading up on to figure out pros cons and such

RennTech.org

Rennlist.com

Porsche | 996 997 Turbo GT | Owners, Performance, Research - 6Speedonline.com

i'm on 6speed more than the other two
also as far as good high end forums

Luxury4Play.com

Teamspeed.com - The World's Premier Luxury Forum

l4p is a car forums / life style
6speed is mostly a porsche forum with everything else high end mixed in (high end cars and style)
teamspeed one of the 6speed guys told me to check out i haven't really had time for it

My brother got his information directly from employees of the BMW M-Company in Munich when he was attending the service technician trainings.

and yes, the new M5 will get a V8 TT too.

yeah the v10 only gets one generation in the m5 it's almost a shame because i LOVE the sound and power band of the M5 and M6

I assume that they will face the same problem as they already have with the V8 TT....the turbos are be found between the cylinder banks, which causes some trouble in the cooling.

My brother can supply you with pictures of the engine when he gets online, he also can tell you something more about it than I could do.

besides, the german V8 and V10 engines are capable to rev WAY higher than the american motors.....I'm no engine specialist, but I think the costs for the cars would be much higher just to make the engines last under boost.
