looking at 1998 M3 for project.. yes or no
as far as supercharger or turbo on that motor, which ever your budget will allow turbo being a little more costly but much more ability for higher power applications.
if the motor is shot i would not pay much for the shell, i've watched "clean bodys" go for under a grand.
it sounds like your saying you can get the roller for under a grand. if thats the case and the power top works and everything is fairly clean sub a grand i'd be all over it and either put another s50/52 in it or just lsx swap iti (i have a spare ls2 in storage only reason why)

Eh depends on what power level you want and how dependability is also a concern when deciding to turbo/SC. Superchargers tend to have much linear and smoother power bands but you wont get huge HP numbers from most kits but dependability is much better on a S/C car. Turbo is awesome if you want to always have the ability to upgrade, and turbo cars when built right can put out huge crazy Hp numbers, if you ever have any questions feel free to give me a buzz. We are working on a 2001 BMW M coupe and we have swapped the tranny from a 5 to a 6 speed and are installing and Active Autowerke Level 1 supercharger kit bringing the power level up to the 480hp range. Check out the build on floridagerman.com!
