Default fuel filter replacement

ok i was going to replace my fuel filter so i bought a new one but with only a jack it looks a lil difficult to do. anyone replace them and how much, its 70 at firestone but if someone wanted to do it cheaper i'd rather give someone like 30$ cash to do it, i was told its like a 45min job. so 40$ for 45min isnt bad.

what year and model ?

on an e30 it is a 5 minute job, on an e39 it takes 15 minutes lol

pull the fuse for the fuel pump and turn the car over a few times to make sure the lines are clear and not under pressure, get a big pan to catch any leakage, disconnect filter, make sure you put the filter in the right direction, re attach lines, reinstall fuse (you will not believe how many people forget this step and go wtf my car will not run), and your done

i'll ask a few buddies with e36 about any tricks.

if your not having problems they usually aren't bad enough to have to be replaced right now (but it is always a good idea to change them every now and then

i highly suggest you join on floridagerman there is a great group of bmw guys over there that have a good chunk of knowledge and are local. other than that bimmerforums is handy
