boostin e36
software to make it run properly. in this there are tons of ways to go, for turbo you have everything from hpf to aa etc, if supercharged dinan (bmw's tuning counterpart) to many others
a shit ton of random connectors and lengths/sizes of hose.
all the piping and couplers your choice of power adder and cooling method.
when boosting the e36 a lotta guys up grade the maf.

ic im thinking of gettin this kit on ebay... i know ppl say there bad but this one isnt that bad its 1000$ an get the 24lb injectors an the fuel pump an tuned on 8psi then upgrade the turbo later on
those ebay kits can be good starters but i wouldn't trust them for over 5 or 6 psi. also i am not a huge fan of internal gate turbos. mainly due to problems with internal gates having problems with holding boost and spiking like a son of a gun.
i can't see what bov or bypass valve that is, i did a little reading up on boosting that motor. 95% of guys have to recirculate boost in order to run right and not have the car nearly die every time you get off throttle. your going to want a quality bypass valve to hold boost and be able to dump quick enough to keep turbo flutter from giving you problems (excess pressure inside the piping between the throttle body and turbo)
you can get away with cheaper parts such as ebay intercoolers and piping kits. sometimes manifolds although many guys running cheap ebay ones have complained about cracking the manifolds and having to have them re welded (pia due to down time)
if you go for it it still looks like your going to need to address tuning and monitoring your system
a wideband is going to be a must and boost gauge of course
what are you planning on using for tuning?

just tunin the car right to drive on boost right. but i could always nas it after its on 5 psi or 6.. i would use a 2 stage 25 shot for off the line and a 75 shot for topend an i wanna use a wet system
If your going to go with boost I recommend either an AA kit or Technique Tuning, Their product has gone through years of R&D and the quality of metal is top notch, also AA and Nick G has some of the best tuning on the market as far as safety and performance. If you go turbo you also need to drop the compression a bit if you ever plan on seeing 12+psi. Good luck, once you start you'll never want to stop!

to try to help give you an idea of what your getting into i jumped on bimmerforums f/i section and did a quick search for m50 budget builds
here is one guys build thread you should be able to read it if your not signed up (but if your not on there i suggest it so you can paw threw all the build threads to learn from other mistakes)
