what are your general opinions about this bike? is it a good starter bike?
its a 98 with 12000 miles on it and clean title. only thing done to it is a d@d exaust.

price is 4500 and the awesome thing is he is willing to make a contract and let me make payments

well i use to ride dirk bikes when i was a kid lol if that helps any...

that bike will have something like 100 HP and can go 160 mph +.
Not what I'd consider the best bike to learn on, however if the rider is not an aggressive driver and rides like a normal person should, it is fine for a beginner. I personally, as I have stated before, would suggest finding like a $500 to $1000 bike to learn on for your first year or so of riding, then upgrade when you feel you are ready.

In my opinion, if you are a mature and responsible rider, that bike is perfect. Its not too expensive, and not too new. Its priced fairly. And if you've riden dirt bikes before, you have some experience. I think if you just take it slow to begin with, you should be fine.
I started with a 97 Katana 600 (about 430 lbs and about 80 hp) and I got bored very quick.
It also depends on your size though.
Im 5'10", 155 lbs.
If you are not too much smaller, a 600cc CBR wont be too much power for you.
...just my opinion though...
