Buddy of mine bought a quad because he says its safer then his Gixxer 1k on the streets yet he has had more incidents on it then the street bike.

 

People sometimes dont realize that dirt/ground hurts just as bad as asphalt.

from what i read she was riding her guys flat tract quad around the block (with no gear on) and wrecked into a ditch.

i messaged her on fb. she coming home today or somethin but she is still fucked up. she has had the worst luck these last couple months. shes been getting hurt left and right.

 

hey guys... I'm ok just tore up really good. I took the flat track quad down the driveway with a helmet on, just to see what it was like cuz I hadnt ridden it before and we were gonna race flat track in Ocala for memorial day weekend. Boyfriend said I clicked first second third, then he heard me down shift and the bike shut off. I did't go into any ditch or anything and the quad didnt flip. What we think happened is that I fucked up with the clutch probably trying to feather it to turn back and dumped it (I have tiny hands and we have to always fix and adjust short levers so I can reach em) The bike had a built motor, 80-90 hp and it most likely lifted up on me and when I tapped the rear brake to bring it down, it slammed me down n pitched me off. The balljoint on the front right broke and stuck into the ground. When he got to me I was face down on the ground unconscious with collapsed lungs struggling to brreathe with my jaw locked shut. He saved my life... had to shove his fingers in my jaw to pry my mouth open and put me on my side and get my tongue out of my airway. EMS failed to intubate me, bay flight came and took me to St. Joes down in Tampa. I guess a 4 minute response time. Not sure how long I was without oxygen for but I'm lucky I have no brain damage.

I was in a medically induced coma from the 25-26th, on ventilators til the 27th. Had two chest tubes put in, abdominal exploratory surgery for internal bleeding, fractured left collar bone, broke 3 ribs, fractured pelvis, fractured right elbow, and lots of rash mostly on my arms and chest. They expected me in ICU for a month, I was there for 10 days and in a regular room for another 4. Came home yesterday at the two week mark. Gnna be a long recovery but I got this. Couldve been way worse, I almost lost my life, but managed to pull through. This was deff an eye opening experience, shit happens, accidents happen, and I'll probably never remember what went wrong but 'm so thankful for all the support and everyone I had by my side when I woke up.

 

Wow. Thats pretty shitty. Thats a long list of injuries. I hope you get better soon. You must be one tough chick.
