It's a long story but if anyone wants to know how bad it can be, i'd definitely share the story. Personally, I have financed all of my bikes. But I have always tried to be fairly smart about it. After the deal I got on my first bike, i've learned a thing or two and have been a bit more cautious. I'm on my 4th bike now. My credit is good and I was able to qualify for a 3.99% loan for my current bike during one of those sales events. So i'm not paying a lot of money in interest but it still adds up and im still paying more than I would if I had cash.
Do yourself a favor. As bad as you might want your bike, don't finance if you need a cosigner ( obviously your credit isn't so good ) and ABSOLUTELY DON'T try to finance and let some dealer do their magic and stick you into going with some shit company like HSBC. They will make you think you are getting a good deal by keeping your payments where u want them, but you will get fucked on interest. Like some 23+% which is right around what the bottom feeder banks will offer.

What year/model bike were you trying to get anyway?
Im trying to get an 08 cbr 600, and im 19 and i do have a co-signer who is aunt and uncle. They both have over 750 credit scores and they still wont give me a 6k loan.

Dude at your age don't bother financing a bike. Even if you do get approved you will have to get full coverage and at your age I can tell you that it will be almost as much as the cost of the bike. Pick up a used $4K bike and pay cash and don't do anything stupid with it.

Im pretty much set on this bike though and i wanted to build my credit. Would it be a good idea to just pay cash and pay back my uncle in the long run?

kenny....yes she is engaged now

dude who is retarded and wont listen

STOP IN YOUR TRACKS

having a co signer on a bike will NOT by any means raise your credit much

wanna raise your credit? dont do it with a motorcycle

get yourself a best buy credit card and make simple purchases like a tv or ps3....then pay it back over the span of 3 months

for whatever reason when i paid back the best buy card my credit shot through the roof

please listen to us and dont make the mistake we did. I mean we are telling you some of the shit we went through and you still want to do this.

Its like telling the little kid the stove is hot and not to touch it and they touch it

but in this case its a 19 year old who wont listen. Take it from a guy who is 23 and is trying frantically to pay off my own debts (even though i spent 130 bucks at the bar last night) You dont want debt. It holds you down big time.

Save the fucking money and buy the bike cash....stop being a retard

Dude... I am the king wanting things and scheming like crazy to make it happen.
I know how u feel. but at some point you have to realize that you might have to wait and rethink your plan. If you can't get a bike loan then something is wrong. Dealers will do what ever it takes to make a sale. And getting a co signer is just asking for trouble. Relative or not. And even then. There is no guarantee that it's going to be a good deal.
I'm guessing this is your first bike. Save up the money and buy a nice used bike. We had a thread in this last week. There are TONS of good bikes out there and paying cash and owning your toys makes u look like and feel like a baller.
