If I was to join, i'd do it for a multitude of reasons, mainly for personal reasons that are extremely hard to explain. For some odd reason, I always wanted to do infantry, or fly. But I wouldn't want to have to go back to school for a couple years, just to be able to enlist as an officer.

I joined because im a spoiled brat who has his life already paid/planned out for and I needed to join and do my time for this country which gave me the privilege of being a brat. Only thing is... I actually really like the Air Force and as long as I don't end up in trouble or getting stationed in the arctic circle for 5 years, I plan on staying in. I have a decent amount of friends in, and some are officers. I wanted to go officer before I joined, but now that im enlisted and see how the two compare in day to day activities... I wouldn't give it up for the world being enlisted. Sure the pay sucks and you have to learn to live on a budget, but ive never not been able to do something due to money, if anything work gets in the way of plans over everything else... which is fine, because work is good... staying busy, America Fuck Yeah.

its all depends on your job, but from my time in ive noticed almost all career fields doing all sorts of boring shit when they should really just have time off. seems across the board almost all leadership feels fit to call their troops in to sit around and do a bunch of nothing in hopes that work might pop up and they will get it done, i guess because we get paid from the american people, working endless hours is justified. i enjoy it, the people i work with are great. but sometimes you just wanna figure out who the hell invented this hurry up and wait process so you can take them out to dinner and then ditch out on the bill.
