I am in the process of selling my car and may put the money into repairing my gs550. It ran fine until about 4 months ago. It was having a charging issue and has since sat and will need the carbs cleaned and resynced, probably a starter and other misc parts. I am willing to sink about 1500 (maximum) into this project. Does anyone know a place to have this done and if that figure is realistic?

 

I will say that there are few good shops around it depends on where are located. If your near the Brandon area RADS is awesome. If your in Pasco check out R&B Russ is a nice guy. If your in Pinellas I would talk to Drewster. Stay away from cycle masters and cycle mania!!!! There is a shop behind cycle gear in Pinellas Park I don't know there name but they always have older bikes out front.

Sorry I didnt get back with ya. Bring in on down and we can diagnose it and give you an ideal on all that needs fixed. I dont think it will run that much. But it depends on what else you would like done.

 

my goal would be minimal cosmetics but to bring it up to reliable dd status. thats what it was before it started having issues. I will let you know within the week if i go this route. thank you.
