I'm hoping to pick up a bike by the end of this year. hoping to get an 06+ and i'll have around 5.5K. personally i've always been into gsxr's and cbr's. just my personal taste. No this may be a dumb question, but i was wondering some/if any issues certain bikes are prone to. if that even makes sense haha. No i've had my one friend tell me cbr's come awesome from the factory for handling and taking corners, but almost everyone i know says gsxr's are the most comfortable bikes (i'm sure this is more of an opinion and will change person to person).
honestly just want all my ducks in a row before i go out and buy a bike. So if anyone has any input i'd like to know, thanks

 

5.5k is a great budget to get a newer bike. Go to the bike store and check out ones you are thinking of getting, touch em and feel em and sit on them, see which ones are more of your taste. If you have a buddy that rides ask to ride his.

that would make sense lol. and i had no intentions of finacing. I'm definitly not going for power. i could care less, just looking for a 600. but i definitly want an extremely clean one. thats why i'm making sure i have the budget that i posted lol

 

This is just my opinion, but picking out your first bike is a tricky ordeal. If you are planning to go with an 06 than I would get a CBR. I am partial to them because my first bike was an 06 CBR and I loved it. Rode that baby for about 40K before upgrading. Signal has a 06 CBR also. It is a strong and comfortable bike. You can't go wrong with it. If you decide you want to go with a 2007 bike then I would get a GSXR -600. I think Honda totally jacked up the CBR's that year and the GSXR's were just beautiful. I also think that 2007 was the first year that they suzuki did the S-DMS mode switches. My 07 gsxr 1000 had it but im not sure if the 600's did. Maybe the 600's didn't get it until 08. Maybe someone can correct me. But in any case. I think that any year higher than 2006 you should go with a gsxr. I did and have never look back.

I also agree with Obrien. Financing a bike, unless you have good credit, can get a good interest rate, and have picked out your own bank, is a bad idea.

well i love th 06 cbr's. and honestly wouldn't mind picking one up lol. and i have been a fan of how gsxr's look since 02 lol. just me maybe but owell. another thing that i'll have to pick up on is that i don't really know any bike tech either lol. like why/when you need a power commander and differances in sprocets, and whatnot. like i said. i just want a stock bike but knowing bikes period would always be a plus ya know.

 

just my .2 cents but take someone with you that has ridden for a while and somewhat knows what there talking about especially if your buying something off craigslist...dont get ripped off

 

don't really know anyone with a bike tho. trying to figure out what knowledge i should start to learn and what not. understand what i mean? lol
