looking to get some input
First, take the MSF course (it's now required to get a license). Then decide what kind of bike you want. The big four are all good choices and none (excluding 06-07 r6) are prone to major problems that I'm aware of. Liter bikes are definitely more fun in the twisties but slightly less flickable/maneuverable.

what are the r6's prone to? not that it really matters because i don't like the look of them lol. i love the back of them and how it comes to a point, just hate the front of thems lol
and i've always heard bike tires wear real quick? is this true?

i was thinking about trading my eclipse for a bike because it's getting a huge make over. but i'm just gonna try and buy a bike right out lol.

06-07 r6's have a tenancy to throw rods when ridden hard. Rear tires typically wear-out 2-3 times faster than front. My fronts last 6k mi and 3k on rears, but I usually run em until I can see the cords. It depends a lot on the type of tire and how hard you ride them. The bigger bikes typically eat tires faster due to extra power and weight.

You should buy what you like best. Every body here is going to tell you what they think. Most of us are brand loyal. I think an R6 is the way you should go. But like i said buy what makes you happy we don't have to ride it.
well it wasn't just bike choice i wanted input on, but just any bike knowledge period. all i've ever riden are dirtbikes lol.
fuck all this nonsense i have read in here and no mentioning of the 06 636...? something is wrong with you all 06 636 is an awesome bike... but like the first response suggested everyone has a different feel... go to dealerships sit on the bikes get an idea of how the feel then base that off your opinion on what type of bike to get.
but first get your endorsement.
