Most bike alarms take about ten minutes to install as most snap right into your stock wiring harness. I know LoJack is a little more complicated, although I cannot imagine much, except that they go out of their way to try to make it harder to find as opposed to simply wiring it up right under the back seat.

Phantom Tracking is the best GPS security solution for a motorcycle in my opinion. It has 24/7 monitoring by a live person. If the alarm is activated, they call you, if you do not answer, no big deal, as long as the bike is not moving. If you do not answer and the bike moves, they call the cops for you. Only problem is it is about $1,000 to buy and have installed (they don't let you install it yourself) and it is around $10 a month for monitoring fees. Oh yeah, and if you let your battery die, it is an absolute BITCH to reset the damn thing, so get a trickle charger to be safe.

I understand you want to do everything you can to protect your bike from being stolen, but one really good alarm is better than ten crappy bicycle chains or disc locks. Then get insurance to cover you just in case, and you can sleep easy with your bike parked on Nebraska and MLK over night.
