I have to agree, maybe he can mark the area he's referring to on the pic.

Do not like. Keep it the way you've got it. A buddy of mine has them painted white on his 04-05 R1 and it looks great but the older generation I think looks better like you have it now.

Ok, so I forgot to tell you guys about this. And then keep forgetting.

So remember the problems my bike was having? Well last month, or maybe longer, I was on my way to Clearwater and ran out of gas lol. Luckily it was right in front of a gas station so I only had to feel/look stupid for about 30 seconds as I pushed my bike up the hill to the pumps.

Ever since then the bike has been running great. Well, 90%. After that, I can put a full tank of gas in my bike and it doesn't run like poop. (Previously, more than a 1/3 of a tank and the bike would run like poop till it got down, and the less gas it had the better it ran.)

So, that's been pretty awesome. That's about it. The 10% that the bike is running not well on I think is me needing a valve adjustment. I just turned 29k miles and never had the valves adjusted.

It's funny, one day the bike will run hot and be boggy, the next day it'll run like a dream. I've been waiting to move to Clearwater to get the valves adjusted and I'm finally moving here October 4th, so where's a good place to get my valves adjusted? Who's a Yamaha dealer down here anyway?

see if Mike (kawi) wants to help you, learning yourself is always better than taking to a dealer

My newest mod for the bike...

Got the idea for an epic fender swap a while back when I saw LGH do it in his build thread. Now to get it painted...
