Hey now, it may be kinda heavy, lack FI or adjustable suspension, and has a weird sized rear tire but that thing has gotten me all over Tampa and pinellas daily for the past year. I have no illusions the R6 would eat if alive but it's still a good bike for the price range you can pick one up for.

Did some messing around with the bike today. Put it in diagnostic mode and started checking things out.

Got to diagnostic 3 using the FSM as a reference to check out each one...

03

Pressure difference
(atmospheric pressure-intake air pressure)

Displays the pressure difference (atmospheric pressure intake air pressure).
Engine stop switch is on.
* Generate the pressure difference by cranking the engine with the starter, without actually starting the engine.

10-200 mmHg

So I was getting 6-8 haha. Hmmm. Did it while bending the vaccum line and got it to throw a code for the Atmospheric Pressure Sensor. The failsafe action according to the FSM is to set the pressure to the "standard."

Was going to see how the bike ran with this failsafe but had to go do activities lol. Feels like I'm getting closer haha.

My bike is dead to me.

I took it to my Yamaha mechanic and we messed around with it a bunch, got no where. I had to go so I left the bike with him...for 2 more days. He did nothing but work on my bike the whole time and couldn't find a thing wrong. Put it all back together and it was running fine.

He calls me up and is like, "uuuuh, I didn't do anything, but your bike is running fine haha. I drove it all around town for like 15 minutes and it's been great." I was excited, I told him I didn't care if we didn't figure it out as long as it worked I was happy.

So I picked it up and drove it home and it ran great until I hit 8k RPM it started to break up a little. Come out today to go to work and I had to start it like 6 times because it kept dying instantly and then it was back to it's dumb shit again.

Gonna bring it back to him Monday. I voiced my concern that it may just intermittently be running well, and he said if it does to bring it back. He's not charging me for any of this so I might as well let him scratch his head over it...I think.

I hate this bullshit. I don't mind too much if something goes wrong and I know what it is and can fix it; shit happens. But this blows.

Intermittent problems are the worse, have you thrown this up on an R6 forum? Chances are someone has had this happen to them.

That's why I sort of hate the transition to more electronics, and less mechanics. It's hell when one thing goes, and you can't track it down.

You need to get that thing back up and running so we can all ride soon enough...

Yeah its up on the r6 forums and r6mesagenet but no one knows anything. Were in the "throw-random-parts-we-think-may-be-fucked-up-at-it-and-see-what-happens" phase...I found an ECU for 55 shipped...its for a newer R6s though...anyone know if it'll work?
