why did u get a careless? were u up the guys ass or something? i would think at 50mph u had to be riding up the guys ass in order for u to have to brake like that and still lock em up...u prolly deserved ur ticket..sucks u wrecked ur bike tho good luck healin up

 

no i was a good 5 to 6 car lenghs away from him, problem is he slammed then so hard his tires locked up also and i had to do the same in order not to hit him, i couldent switch lanes because the was a car next to me and my only option was to lay it down so i dint hit hime dead on

 

never purposely "lay" down a bike, you have more control on it more so then sliding beside it. also you could of stopped in time if you were 5-6 car lengths behind him, or you just didnt have full control over your bike (and thats where the wreckless driving ticket came from)... braking+down shifting= fast stopping. but glad to hear you're ok, make sure you scrub that road rash if theres any gravel in it. but like stated above, get a lawyer and try to get that ticket dropped, thats a pretty bad ticket

ok when i hit my front breaks they locked up, and by locking up the piston is to this momment stuck, thats why i couldent stop when i hit my back breaks they did the same, except they actually realeased, i gotta figure out what happened to my front breaks, they stuck against the rotor

Incorrect. Laying down a bike can sometimes save you from injury, especially whiplash and flying through the air. I laid down a dirtbike once right before impact - I got some rash and a really sore leg. Had I not laid it down I probably would've had to be rushed to the ER due to the injuries I would've sustained. Anyways, bikes lay down in hard braking when the front tire locks up, it just happens. Even happens to pro riders.

The cop wrote you a ticket because A) Cops are pieces of shit B) You were on a bike and C) Cops' agencies tell them to write tickets just for shits and giggles in accidents to raise revenue.

 

agreed in some situations, but how he stated his situation it didnt sound like he needed to lay it down and that laying it down could of actually been worse, and he left out the part of his brake locking up completely and not releasing. i wish i would of laid my bike down in my accident. i'd still have it.

 

If you were wearing gear, you wouldnt have rash on your knee. If you were 5-6 car lengths back, you wouldnt have hit him as sport bikes can out brake 99% of the cars on the road, let alone a truck. You did not have to lock your brakes because he did, locking them reduces your braking ability. If your front brakes are so bad they stick and wont unlock, then i sense a darwin award in your future.
