doesnt the top injectors kick in at 8k on a 1000?

Im not to familiar with the Honda's but sounds like problems ive run into with Kawi's and Suzuki's.... Could be the Secondary throttle body solinoid. Im not sure if Honda's have these but is the symptoms that you describe...

the butterflies in the throttle body may not be opening right so i vote electrical problem. a friend of mine had the same problem like this on his gixxer 600 and it turned out to be that.

Besides the other suggestions, check your oil level. Too much can cause this kind of issue and do a lot of damage.

This is where your problem is. I had an issue with a 2007 cbr 600rr and this what caused it. Its out of adjustment.

Sometimes you can lock in place. But you need the computer to do them correctly. Thats how we did it. You might want to look on 600rr and see if there is a manual way.
