they looked ok in their time.


plus i like having 2 headlights. makes for better night riding.

That means that the bikes are scraping the compression rings agains the cylinder walls over twice as much as cars. There is no more basic wear and tear on a motor than the metal(alloy?) ring scraping the cylinder wall. Revving kills motors. So do other factors, but when you get right down to it, more revving means more movement which means a shorter lifespan.

Sure, things like stroke make a lot of difference, but you're still causing parts to move even if you've got a lil tiny stroke like sportbikes do.
Bikes have a very short stroke, and hence slow piston speeds. typical 600cc bike is around 40mm stroke i believe. Typical car is over double that at 90-100mm. Which means the piston on a bike travels over twice as slow, and travels under half the distance.

They did, but there is nothing awesome about classic sport bikes because they have no style. Im sure this ride was hot as hell back in the day too

not really, that paint was gay ever for its time.

but older honda's still look good(95 900rr's) and i've seen a few clean 97ish blue zx9's that still looked good next to todays bikes.

haha when i mentioned the 97 bike..i was just throwing out something random that i have no clue about...

i know some people know things about certain generations of bikes that might of had an issue to look out for or to avoid..

honda was really ahead of its time iwth the hawk GT. hard to believe it is a 1989 model.
