but with that said, if all the bikes are using oil. my guess would be its either something designed wrong, like valve guides that let to much oil by, low tension oil rings that are a little to low tension in the search for every last HP. cyl plating causing the rings not to seal right, or some sort of crank case vents, either sucking oil out, or not baffled well enough.

I get what your saying.
I am extremely meticulous when I service my bike, thats why I switched to amsoil after 600mi
as far as the oil consumption issue, it has been addressed by different dealers and different owners. most get warranty clearance for a tear down and result in rings and jug replacement. some of them still have the problem.... so im not sure if rings are the issue. I read that 08 cbr 1000's started using a new
Nikasil coating which could be the problem. either way i dont care i check my oil every 1k miles and add accordingly. problem fixed*
