The new R1 is so F!#k'in nasty
I like the direction bikes are going in to be honest, saw the new R1 in person Wednesday, very nice piece of machinery.
And the thinking about the ride like you are jdm_Trex, one could also point out that you're bike is running (at a safe a/f) thanks to a 'computer' as well (ECU). Just throwing that out there

abs is a worthless peice of technology on a motorcycle. Its great for the heavier bikes but not a streetbike. its worthless on the streets and on the track. you loose all front end feel from what ive read on the reviews. And on top of that its an extra 1k$ and 30 pounds more heavier. That and plus if you cant safely stop a 450 ppound MC with regular brakes or learn how to ride in the elements then you dont need to be riding a bike. I love my bike because of the rawness. no dampers no computer adjusted shit. just striaght raw power and handling.
As for the R1 it does have way to much technology that i think is pointless for a streetbike. But it really is probably the most technology advanced bike next to the Ducati. Its gonna be a good bike from what ive read. John it sounds just like rossi's m1

yeah it looks like shit. they shouldve stuck with the dual headlight design.
with the new engine design the only thing that changed was the power curve it put the torque alot sooner but as far as number on the dyno it makes the same power wich is still nothing to be excited about compared to other liter bikes. And theres a dip in the power curve like always on the R1 rite around 5k but im sure a power commander will fix that.
