normal firing order is 1,2,3,4 this one fires 2 at a time. so its more like 1+3, 2+4. that pairing prob isn't right, but you get the idea.

I'll wait to see what it sounds like in person with a pipe on it to judge if I like it. just hoping its not a thumbing twin sound.

I dont like the fact that they are fly by wire! and whats with the map select shit, you might as well have the damn computer ride the bike for you. I understand traction control but "de-tuning" the bike with a push of a button sounds stupid to me. at least honda is going in the right direction with ABS next year

suzuki does pretty much the same thing with the mapping of the ECU

I'd like to know a bit more about how the traction control works, and i'd also like more information on how the 'fly by wire' stuff works as well

the fly by wire works just like all the cars that use it.

there is a servo that actuates via voltage of the tps, performance wise I dont see the advantages ......?

Dont hold me to it but from what i've read, the traction control is only for when the bike is in a hard lean/acceleration and the rear wheel starts to slip and the ECU automatically retards the shit out of the timing and its suposed to stop the tire from spinning.

there's tons but will the bike run faster in the 1/4 mile or make more hp on the dyno? no

the advantages come in things like TC and being able to tune how throttle reacts differently to different gears and stuff.

like say leaned over at low speed in first gear. you can soften it up. so its easier to ride at the limit of the tire.

so the new R1 is idiot proof is what what your saying lolz
just full throttle it around every corner and let the bike do the thinking basically

I know the 270hp moto gp bikes need that kind of split second strategy

Im not arguing how it works with the TC but the simple fact that when I crack the throttle on my rr I know it does what i tell it to not how the PC tells it to.......

I can remember when people bitched about abs on cars.

as for racers needing it and we don't. I could argue that riding on the road needs it more because we see the unexpected, while race tracks do not.

if a computer saves my life, I'm ok with it covering for my ass.
