Thieves only steal certain kinds of bikes.

Gixxers, CBRs, ZX-10Rs, ZX-6Rs, R1s, R6s, etc...you know, the sport bikes.

Other kinds of bikes get left alone.

Take a Honda Magna, for example. Not one single Honda Magna was reported stolen in 1998, 1999, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2006, or 2007.

In fact, this is a true story: I woke up one morning and found a Honda Magna parked on my front porch with a note that read, "I found this outside last night. I didn't know who it belonged to, but it was kinda in my yard out near my mailbox. I thought it might be yours, so I washed and waxed it for you. Have a good day."

See? Get yourself a Honda Magna and sleep EASY tonight. Hell, park it with the keys in it and running. It'll be there in the morning--you can count on that!

Nobody wants those slow old Honda Magnas.

I'm gonna buy a GSX-R 1000 so people want to steal my bike.

Here's a tip for people who want to avoid this sort of trouble: don't move to brandon.

seriously.

Or don't take your chances with apartment complexes unless you plan to give thieves a challenge.

And if you live at an apt complex, get a bottom floor one so you can pull it inside.

yeah, tell me about it... I cant believe that its gone.
The bike was knocked over a few weeks ago and i swore up and down someone tried to take it and just tipped mit or something. I knew somehting wasnt right and when i tried to park it up by the door and what not they complained it was a fire hazard...

Yeah had that happened to me... I started putting it inside late at night so no one could see me... Complex found out & I told to evict me, I didn't want to stay there if they where going to be pricks about it.

They sent me a warning but I kept doing it... eventually I moved and things didn't get worse.

I had one stolen out of an apartment complex parking lot too back in 2006. This time I park it right next to the building, cover it every night, have an alarm on it, and carry full coverage insurance including gap. So far it has done the trick as most thieves are looking for the easiest targets possible. Parked outside anywhere in Florida with no alarm is just asking for trouble in my opinion.

I dream of of having a big two or three car garage some day...

Did you have insurance?
