trust me im most likely one of the more experienced riders on this site compared to what im hearing others say. My bike was my main mode of transportation from the age of 17 till i was 26, im sure i have well over 100k miles on a bike and still see nothing wrong with the laws.

See there's my point you commute on your bike I can't stand doing that. I only really enjoy riding back curvy roads and the track. You wouldn't understand riding like some of us do and call us reckless and think were only out to kill people. If I had to guess your voting for Obama arnt you?
I'm sorry that you can't enjoy just straddling your machine and cruising on it as well as laying on it and pushing your limits; theres more to riding than acting like you're some kind of Motocross racer. If I had to guess, I'd say you're a young guy, though. So, if you don't kill or maim yourself and stick with it, one day you'll really get what the spirit of riding is all about.
BTW, I agree with the general train of thought here. By the time its a third offense you need to be hit with hella stiff penalties for being a lawbreaking douchebag. But these laws for the first and even second offenses are complete nonsense.

No, you aren't out to kill people, you're just out to be dangers to society. And that gets people killed. As long as you're just killing yourselves and not affecting me I could really care less how many of you become skidmarks. But when you go down you eat up our police and rescue resources, you back up traffic, you cause damage to other vehicles, and sometimes you also hurt or kill other innocent people. Thats when you start to piss me off. Where the hell do you come off thinking you have the right to do this?

you = clueless about what he's talking about.
and the motocross part just made you look dumb.
there is no society where they ride and the time that do it, or atleast as little as can be.... think people that don't ride in the city at all if they can help it.
I guess I won't say it can't ever happen some day, so yeah. maybe they will cost the tax payers some money but they all have good health insurance, so its not like the state will be left holding the bag on doctor bills. and again, the chances of them hitting another car and or hurting someone else is very very low... prob much lower than you think. there are people that ride like this every weekend for well over 20 years and never crash
again, motocross racer lol thats dirt bike racing on a track.
in the end... you should buy a sport bike, find the right crowd and everything with make sense. until then, your just believing the hype and trying to bash squids without knowing the real difference between sport riders and squids.

I know exactly what you "sport" riders are talking about. I like to get low in the corners and feel the adrenaline rush when the front tire floats up on exit. I love to feel the soft rubber on the edges of the tire giving just a little bit as the suspension loads through the apex. I take trips to Deal's gap, dream about moving to the mountains, and get frustrated as hell that there are no good roads here. I have logged somewhere around 75,000K miles searching for that rush. I get it.
That doesn't make it okay.
The fact remains that no matter how good a rider you are or how safe you think your favorite stretch of road may be, going for that rush on a public road is dangerous to the public in general. I have to agree with the 50mph over part of the law. Joe Schmoe farmer driving his tractor down the road at 20mph does not have a chance when a sport bike comes flying around that next corner draggin' knee doing 85mph.
Now think about what this means for a second before everyone jumps up and starts ranting about how it cannot happen to them. If you are doing 50mph over the limit and didn't see the cop, you could have been doing 50mph over and not seen the tractor.
The other two parts of the law are rediculous in my opinion. Wheelies are not as dangerous as everyone would like to believe (at least not until you get up there into the speeding range with one). Improperly mounted tag is B.S. but they think the tag is obscured so you can run. If that is the case I understand but I don't see how you could ever tell the intent of an improperly mounted tag except in the most extreme of circumstances.
So what does this all mean? Just that you have a further incentive to take the "spirited" riding off the street and onto the track. If they really want to curb wreckless sport bike riding on public roads, they should build stunt parks and make tracks that are cheaper to run and more accessible. Since that is not currently the case, at least do a slow paced run through your favorite roads before you go balls to the wall, and think twice as that rush we are all after may just cost you $1,000, or even your life!
