he can rebuild the bike he has, but must also change the motor while rebuilding the bike and has to be inspected to get a title. id look more into it since picking up a motor to throw in it for a inspection is cheaper then a new frame. then put the old one back in or sell it to recoop cost lost.

ok so you got paid. did you have gap? it was offered when you bought it. you dont need help now the rest of the story came out. your out of debt and now own a stunt bike. you can rebuild it if you would like or sell it with the COD title.. you can probally get 2-3k with for it. then you can take that and down payment on a new bike with it and start over. or not at all. even part it out. look at it this way, atleast you got it back and your out of debt. imagine if you had no insurance and owed 9600 on a wrecked COD bike

I would say your best bet at this point is to part out the bike... You should be able to make back the $1400 you are out of pocket (GAP insurance would have covered you there by the way) pretty easily if the motor is still good.

By the way, consider yourself lucky. I had a brand new 2006 GSX-R1000 stolen three months after I bought it. I did have full insurance but did not have GAP insurance. Long story short, I ended up somewhere around $4,000 out of pocket after insurance pay out. Needless to say, I have GAP insurance this time around, and yes, I know how stupid it is to finance a toy... I am reminded each and every month when half my payment seems to go to interest charges!
