My older 250 never had tranny problems...
Most peoples tranny problems can be narrowed down to used error.

It didn't have anything "wrong" per se, just wasn't as precise as my 600rr, but I guess that's a dumb expectation to have as they are two different animals. It had a very long way to go pulling on the lever until it went into another gear. If it had a new tranny I would definitely look into picking one up to ride around campus.

All makes & models differ somewhat in throw... that is why the gear shifter is adjustable. I've not come across a bike I didn't have to adjust the gear shift lever to my comfort level... you get used to the rest just as with car clutches.

In Europe and Asia, I believe the engines are FI. I wonder if the 2009's Stateside will follow suit...
