True statement. I haven't run across anyone yet that wasn't at least a little humbled after their first day at the track, even if they did "good," we all weren't AS GOOD as we thought we were!

my guess is this is because not many guys that ride were brought up racing anything. if you find someone that say ran gocarts as a kid, half the battle is already won and all he has to do is learn the skills to put his bike on that line.

if you don't understand lines thru corners and how they lead to the next set. your in for some harsh shit your first time at the track. throw in the fact that even if your good, it takes time to learn each track, being able to lean your bike over farther than the next guy on a back road sweeper doesn't mean much.

why would learning race lines be so difficult? it's kind of comon sense.

i think my biggest hurdle will be not braking early (getting good corner entry speed)
Obviously, it takes a few laps to get comfortable and used to the track, but learning the lines is really the least of my worries.

alright then. well in regards to the different aspects of learning race lines, i will IMO have the most interesting time with braking in regards to not wanting to brake early!

yeah, finding the race line doesn't just mean starting out wide and tuning inside and then runing wide under power..

you have to know the when, where and how about whats the fastest. a lot of times you have to give up the fast way thru one corner for the next one to end up with a faster line. and just asking other people should help but you have to throw your style of riding in to it.
