I wouldn't suggest it for the street. Suspension and ground clearence are there for a reason, you are going to scrape over every little bump, let alone what will happen when you ride over a rail road crossing, uneven cross street, sewer cover, speed bump, etc. Then again, I have seen people that don't care when they are shooting sparks every 100 yards, so to each there own I guess. Just remember it is very easy to lose control if you are leaned over even a little bit and lose traction because you bottom out.

Strapping the front end will make the bike handle pretty shitty because the suspension will be compressed at all times. You should try dropping the forks in the tripple tree first. Not joking but maybe a pair of boots with some heel to them will help.

The clamps 'should' be able to tighten around them still. How much of a taper is there, cause if its significant the clamp could grab the top but not the bottom and that would pose a safety hazard IMO. Also, if the clamps get tight before the grip the fork well then you can remove some of the metal from the clamp opening the gap larger and allowing them to close further. But i DEF dont recommend straps for the street. YOU WILL blow out your fork seals prematurely as well as prematurely wear the internal components, specifically the spring. Springs do not like to be compressed ALL the time. You may also be able to shave a bit of foam off your seat and re-cover it to get you another 1/2" closer to the ground.

But then again, most superbike riders are short little guys, once your moving you dont need to touch the ground

I love my strap...However, I highly suggest NOT using it on the street! The strap is intended for drag racing and drag racing only...Just to get an idea try and move the bike around with it on!
