I was told buy someone at the National Dealer Expo that they did that for balance.....I thought that was BS. More like a gimmik Id say to be different from the other 250's.

I actually looked it up and apparently they are doing it for noise pollution reasons. As EPA cracks down on noise pollution the only way to bring down noise in an exhaust system WITHOUT restricting flow is to increase the surface area of the muffler. In order to get the surface area needed with todays and the futures high performance thumpers without creating a muffler 2 feet long is to add two of them. Apparently Husqvarna did this in the 80's but with two true dual pipes for both performance and cooling reasons but were rediculed for it...now it seems as though the Europeans werent so dumb afterall
Yeah, I DEF dont buy the balance BS of it, if that were the case they would have done it to the 450's as well, which also makes me question why they DIDNT mod the 450's. One thing is for sure, i bet companies like Yoshimura are LOVING this, instead of $500 for a system, how about a grand?

THose who know how to do it can do it with 2 strokes

I always wondered though why they did dual exhaust on the 250...it's the ONLY 4-stroker like that.
